Position Details
The underhook takedown uses an underhook to control and attack your opponent. The underhook provides excellent inside position for various finishes.
Key Principles
- Secure a deep underhook, reaching up to their shoulder
- Pull them into you with the underhook
- Step to their side to create an angle
- Finish with a trip or lift

- Underhook Depth: Deeper underhook means more control
- Hip Position: Your hip should be close to theirs
- Angle Off: Step to their underhook side to attack
