Outside Single
Position Details
The outside single attacks from the outside position, with your head on the outside of their leg. It's a safer entry that's harder to sprawl on.
Key Principles
- Level change and shoot to the outside of their leg
- Head stays on the outside, ear on their thigh
- Control at the ankle and drive your head through
- Finish by lifting and running them to the mat
Concepts
- Safe Entry: Outside position makes sprawling difficult for them
- Ankle Control: Control low, at the ankle, for this variation
- Head Drive: Your head drives through to the inside to finish
- Distance Takedown: Works well from further out than standard single
